SPF - In-Vitro SPF Testing

ANNOUNCING OPTOMETRICS IN-VITRO SPF TEST ANALYSIS LAB!

WHO WILL BENEFIT:
For existing customers, this is an opportunity to outsource in-vitro SPF testing during peak load or seasonal periods.

For those who do not yet own an SPF unit, this is a great time to utilize our SPF testing services and experience the benefits and efficacy of the SPF-290S Analyzer System and what it can do for you in your lab.

For those who do not have sufficient testing requirements to cost-justify an SPF unit, you can still get your in-vitro SPF results using the test equipment that has long been the industry leader and standard for SPF in-vitro test equipment. And fast!

FEATURES: Cost-effective in-vitro Sunscreen Protection Factor Measurement services are provided through Optometrics’ SPF test lab. Qualified technicians measure samples utilizing the SPF- 290S Analyzer. Comprehensive result reporting is available within 48 hours by mail, fax or email.

PROTOCOL: In-vitro analysis is performed using the SPF-290S Analyzer. A 1-cc syringe is used to dispense 100 or more dabs of your sample over a Transpore® tape substrate area (70.7 x 70.7 mm) at the rate of 2 µl/cm2, as specified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Results are determined by averaging results of 18 scans of your sample in different locations on the Transpore® tape substrate. Each scan takes a transmittance measurement every 2nm from 290 to 400nm. These are compared to a reference scan at the same wavelength to compute the sample transmittance. The SPF-290S’ WinSPF software converts measurements to the well-known SPF values, Boots Star ratings (if requrested) or Australian TNUV values using these established calculation methods.

SENDING SAMPLES: Optometrics requests that 20 grams or more of your sample be submitted in a labeled container. Label should indicate the sample I.D., your company name, a contact name, telephone and fax numbers and email address. An order form or letter providing address should accompany your sample. Unless otherwise specified, results are provided in report format printed on 8.5 x 11” paper and sent via U.S. mail. Other options available include fax transmittal or electronic PDF formatted documents sent via email. Quantity discounts must be ordered and processed prior to sample processing.
