My monochromator's operating range is (for example) 200 800 nm. Can I tune it to zero order (0 nm)?

My monochromator's operating range is (for example) 200 800 nm. Can I tune it to zero order (0 nm)?

Yes. All standard monochromators operate from below zero order to the stated upper wavelength. The stated lower wavelength is based upon grating performance.

Can I get a monochromator with a grating other than those shown as standard?

Certainly. In large part, almost any grating that Optometrics manufactures can be integrated into the Mini-Chrom monochromator. Contact Customer Service for more information on pricing and delivery for custom grating options.

How do I change the resolution of my monochromator?

Simply change the standard 300m-wide slits and install the appropriate size slits, found at the "Models Available and Resolutions" Table in Optometrics¹ Monochromators and Modules brochure.

Does Optometrics offer adjustable slits?

No. The Mini-Chrom monochromator was designed to be cost effective so, instead, we offer a range of fixed-width interchangeable slits which can be changed in a matter of seconds.

Does Optometrics offer a monochromator with multiple wavelength ranges or interchangeable gratings?

Not at this time. Because of its economical and compact design, multiple or interchangeable gratings would not be practical.

Can I change the grating in my monochromator by myself?

No, but it can be retrofitted and recalibrated at Optometrics¹ factory. Contact Customer Service for more information on pricing and delivery for custom grating options..
